2015 was cool, but 2016 will be cooler
2015 was cool and boy did it fly by!
Get ready for that 2015 year in review post… When we had this crazy idea in October of 2014 to bring all of the New England chapters together to form one super group comprised of Boston Chive, Chive CT, NH Chive and Chive on RI to plan out the year and most importantly work as one we didn’t think it would go like this. From our very first event at the Hard Rock Cafe Foxwoods called ChiveRocks to SantaCon and the Copper Claus Classic Chive New England has filled out one hell of a résumé.
Our goal when we sat down to create Chive New England was to create an environment where we could all collaborate together on events, charity needs, and content. All while having a larger audience and chapter reach to grow Chive Nation in New England. Our work was validated this year by having several successful events, a post that went viral and helping those who were really in need by raising a record $15,510.69 for charities all around New England!
$15,510.69 for Charity!
Oh but wait, we aren’t done yet…
2016 will be cooler, we’re changing a couple of things and we think you’re really going to like it.
Boston Chive will now become Chive On MA!
One of the biggest changes we will be throwing at you is a new chapter focused on the state of Massachusetts, Chive On MA. We heard your feedback loud and clear: “When will something happen in Western MA?” and “Why is everything always in Boston?”. While Boston Chive has been the back bone of the state for a few years and is one of the oldest Chive Chapters in existence we always felt that something was missing, the rest of Massachusetts. To give a consistent experience in the state we’ll be closing the Boston Chive group and re-doubling our efforts in the newly founded Chive On MA group. We’re really looking forward to this fresh start and the opportunity to engage all of Massachusetts.
ChiveRocks returns with part deux!
Oh yes, ChiveRocks returns on April 1st to the Hard Rock Cafe in the Foxwoods casino. Details are coming together quick so make sure to RSVP on the event to keep up to date on all of the details.
Monthly New England meetups are coming!
For 2016 we’re introducing a new monthly meet-up format, brewery meetups. Once a month we’ll be traveling all over New England visiting our favorite breweries and having pints with chivers and chivettes.
Our first stop will be the Redhook Brewery in Portsmouth NH on Janurary 23rd for the Polar Grill Fest, tickets can be purchased right here. Make sure to keep an eye on our social feeds for the future announcements.
We refreshed our logo(s).
New year, new you right? We took the opportunity to draft some awesome new logos that you’ll start to see all over the place. First we have an evolution of our old Chive “C” logo with an added background for consistency and updated fonts. Secondly we have a new KCCO logo that looks just MINT, it’s so clean and cool you just want to lick it and claim it as your own! You’ll also notice they feel familiar, we’ve taken a couple cues from the KCCO Beer logo from Resignation Brewery to give it that recognizable and familiar feeling.
Further growing the group:
The ladies need some representation too you know! Ladies we need some berry love here in New England! We’re looking for driven and excited ladies who love theBerry as much as she loves being a Chivette! So please contact us if you’re looking to take a step out of the shadows and into our giant (sometimes drunk) New England family!
In summary we’ll be returning to old meet up locations and adding some new ones into our roster, just keep your eyes open for the big things coming out of our main Facebook Page, Twitter Feed and Instagram account.
KCCO from yours truly,
Alex, Aisa, Johnny, Matt, Meg, Rich & Steve
